a beautiful birthday

A good friend had a birthday last weekend, and I had the pleasure of doing some flowers for her home... I love the eclectic mix of artwork and furniture that she's collected and I tried to compliment that with the flower choices. Another of her friends made all the party favors and hats (check those out!), and as a surprise installed a huge pink WE (heart) U balloon installation on her front lawn. Happy Birthday Cindy!

This wedding was so pretty! I only had time to get a couple quick shots of the bride's and maid's bouquets before it all went out the door... the sign-in table arrangement that Amanda created was completely amazing. Maybe I'll get some good shots from the photographer.

A pretty wedding of king protea, ranunculus, pieris japonica and other fun stuff... the mother of the groom was nice enough to pose for a shot of her hair flowers... combs may be my new favorite way to do that.

We shared our lives for 11 years with a curious, sweet, persistent, biscuit-making, shower-water-drinking, early-morning-crying little bundle of love. Nothing made him happier than hopping into bed with us in the morning to apply his feet (and unfortunately claws) to my chest in a purring moment of affection. It was with many tears that we said goodbye to him last night, leaving a hole that will take lots of time to heal. We are giving Billy Bob extra chin scratches, and hoping that Tino's little spirit watches over us in the coming years.

The Wildflower Center was the perfect venue for this summery, fun wedding. The setup timeframe is always tight there, so I didn't have time to get an image of the space set for the ceremony, but here is what it looked like after it was flipped and styled for the reception. Thanks to Emily at Bird Dog Wedding for the coordination.
